People say I’m lucky. I don’t know whether that’s true.
People say I’m strong – tough as nails, unbreakable like steel.
But –
I’m unsure if that holds true.

I’m scared, and I hide beneath my smiles –
I fear of the uncertain future,
Of things left unsaid –
And I cower underneath my mask.

I scoff at the words ‘You’re fearless, so certain – ‘
Because how can the future be certain
When change is the only thing that is
constant in this cruel world?
 

My heart is clouded –
Quivering –
Shaken –
Troubled.

The path before me -
Before so clear, and yet now –
Blurry, and I cannot see
Blinded, my eyes are and –

I quail at taking a step,
My heart trembles like
A newborn unaccustomed
To the darkness.

‘Coward,’ the darkness whisper –
‘Fool,’ my heart answers and yet
I take a step back
Trying to escape.
 

1. Mafia Wars Timeline (finished, actually. I just need to polish it up; hopefully this week. Hopefully?)
2. Mafia Wars Terms, Technologies, etcetera ad infinitum (I'm asking for a headache here. Thank the stars for Mark.)
3. Bend and Not Break Chapter Four (Amazingly, I already have the plot for this one here. I just wish they'd translate themselves to words instead of random images in my head! I mean, really! While I appreciate seeing them, I'd appreciate it more if somebody was seeing them alongside me.. Squeeing alone ain't fun.)
4. Canta Per Me Chapter 3 (Actually, Chapter 4 since I count prologue as one chapter. Sadly, I'm stuck on this one. Gah, Sasuke, be stubborn won't you?)
5. Danse Dans Le Ciel (A SasuHina project that I can't seem to rewrite on the pc. It looks so nice on my notebook, why can't it translate itself nicely on the pc? Why? Insert manic sobbing here.)
6. Rurouni Kenshin 100 Prompts Project (...which sadly isn't off the ground yet. Gah.)

Love isn't like what you read
on paperbacks and novels;
love isn't always a walk in the park.

Love doesn't always have a happy ending.

More often than not, the road is full of potholes -
of bumps in the road, of steep uphills
and crazy downhills.

Sometimes you can't help but
stumble and fall;
oftimes you stub your feet
and stop to mind the sudden pain.

The path to Love is twisted and many.
It's impossible to see where one will
end up, looking from the beginning
of the road.

Sometimes, you have to take a gamble
just to take a step forward;
to trust that you have taken the right road,
the right fork.

It takes courage to take
that one defining step forward;
a blind leap of faith that
in the end, everything will be okay.

It's a walking contradiction;
a study of contrasts;
every step is painful and yet -

Love teaches you to endure -
to be brave, to be someone new.

It teaches you that Love is a Gamble -
and drives the point home with
broken hearts and devastated spirits.

You never know for certain that what you have is true -
you only have your faith to see it through.
